Pupil Services License in School Social Work

Program format: Online

ѨƵ participates in a cooperative program with that enables social workers to add the Pupil Services License in School Social Work to their professional credentials by enrolling in three graduate education courses at Baldwin Wallace. This program is one of only three Chancellor-approved programs within the state to lead to the Ohio Pupil Services License.

This cooperative partnership is available to licensed social workers who already hold a professional social work license and graduated from CWRU Mandel School holding an MSSA/MSW degree, or from a CSWE-accredited graduate social work program with a direct practice MSW or equivalent.

Candidates who already hold an MSW will be assessed for eligibility to determine whether their coursework meets approval for enrollment in the school social work curriculum at ѨƵ.

Enrollment requires joint approval from the CWRU Mandel School and ѨƵ, as described in the application process. Once approved, students enroll in three graduate courses at ѨƵ:

  • EDU-510 Educational Studies (Summer Session II, 3 credits)
  • EDU-573 Education of Children with Special Needs (Fall, Spring, or Summer Session I, 3 credits)
  • EDU-584 Pupil Services and Community Resources (Summer Session II, 3 credits)

Upon completion of all program requirements, students send their ѨƵ transcript to CWRU to become eligible to apply for a pupil services license in school social work from the Ohio Department of Education.
